Best Dog Parks in Sydney
Are you and your pooch living in Sydney and looking for the best places to explore around town? Does your furry friend enjoy running carefree off leash and socialising with others? Look no further… Below we have found the best parks around the Sydney CBD and surrounding area to visit on your next trip to the P-A -R-K.
Sydney Park
Starting off strong, we have Sydney Park, one of Sydney’s largest off-leash dog parks. Not only is the off-leash area extensive, but there’s also a purpose-built doggy paddling pool to let your pooch have a splash around to cool off. There are also many walking tracks you can take to allow your pet to sniff all sorts of new scents and explore!
Centennial Park
Another gorgeous Sydney park to take your dog to is Centennial Park, which has both on and off-leash areas to suit your specific needs. With the vast area span of grassy heaven just a stone’s throw from the city centre, it’s the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a relaxing walk or picnic with the family and of course, your dog.
Shale Hills Dog Park
One of our personal favourites is the Shale Hills Dog Park. Located in Western Sydney, this park may be a bit further from the city, however, the purpose-built location has such a vast range of doggy facilities that it is worth the trip out for a day! This park has a training circuit with activity stations, an agility course, and a scented stimulation garden, on top of a vast free-run area and shady rest spots for when your pooch needs to rest. What more could you want?!
Marks Park
Do you and your dog enjoy a walk with a view? Located on the coast just near Bondi, this park is on-lead by day and off-leash by night, providing options for what walking style best suits your dog. Take in gorgeous ocean views as your dog gets some exercise and if your dog enjoys swimming, you can visit the beach right after for a quick cool down.
Hawthorne Canal Reserve
Another hybrid on/off-leash park, Hawthorne Canal Reserve is the perfect place to explore on a day out with your dog. After a good sniff and run around the park, be sure to stop off at Café Bones at the end of Canal Road for a coffee and pupachino!
